Coal Powder Preparation Process for Coal Chemical Industry

Raw Coal Conveying and Distribution

Raw coal is screened through grid screens from the coal yard, then delivered to steeply inclined belt conveyors or elevators. After iron removal by electromagnetic separators, the raw coal is conveyed into raw coal silos for storage. Once the pulverizing system is fully started, the rod valve at the silo bottom opens and the sealed metering belt feeder runs, feeding raw coal into LM vertical coal mill for drying and grinding.

Coal Grinding and Drying (Core Process)

Hot air or waste flue gas from hot blast furnaces is drawn into the vertical mill by system fans. It conducts sufficient heat exchange with ground raw coal inside the mill, carrying coal powder to the separator for classification. Oversized coarse coal powder falls back onto the grinding disc for re-grinding, while qualified fine coal powder is transported by airflow into explosion-proof bag pulse dust collectors for collection, and then discharged into coal powder silos via star-shaped dischargers.

Coal Powder Collection and Conveying

Impurities in raw coal such as gangue and metal blocks are discharged out of the mill through air rings and slag outlets. A CO-O₂online monitoring system is equipped throughout the whole process. For coal with high volatile matter content, nitrogen protection, automatic CO₂fire extinguishing system and other safety devices can be configured.
