Grinding Power Breaks the Dilemma, Waste Turns to Gold | Liming Heavy Industry Empowers Value Leap of Coal-based Solid Waste

Against the backdrop of China’s energy structure characterized by abundant coal, insufficient oil and scarce natural gas, coal has always served as the ballast stone underpinning the country’s economic development. However, during the processes of coal mining and utilization, coal-based solid wastes such as gangue and fly ash keep piling up, evolving into a silent challenge that encroaches on land resources and endangers water and soil ecosystems.

Coal-based Solid Waste: From Ecological Challenge to a New Chapter of Circular Economy

As the green development strategy advances in depth, the treatment of coal-based solid waste has become a critical issue for the sustainable development of the industry. The core to breaking the current dilemma lies in turning these industrial wastes into usable resources.

Coal-based solid waste is widely applied in energy utilization, construction materials, mining environmental protection, agricultural planting, industrial production and other fields. These extensive application scenarios bear witness to the enormous potential of coal-based solid waste resource utilization. The realization of this potential hinges on a critical process — precision grinding processing. Professional grinding equipment is used to finely mill raw materials, ensuring the finished product particle size meets process specifications and adapts to the requirements of different application scenarios. Grinding thus serves as a vital link connecting industrial waste to valuable resources.

Core Grinding Equipment Drives Value Leap of Coal-based Solid Waste

Liming Heavy Industry’s LM Vertical Roller Mill and MTW European Trapezium Mill are premium grinding solutions for coal-based solid waste disposal. Whether it is coal gangue with uneven hardness or fine, hard-to-grind fly ash, both can be efficiently processed into recycled raw materials that meet various application standards, thus achieving a value leap of coal-based solid waste.

LM Vertical Roller Mill

LM Series Vertical Roller Mill integrates drying, grinding, classification and conveying in one unit. Adopting cutting-edge grinding technology, it boasts outstanding advantages such as high grinding efficiency, strong drying capacity, easy adjustment of product fineness, low noise, reduced energy consumption, simplified process flow, minimal wear and low operational cost. Its core technical and economic indicators have reached advanced industry standards.

Raw materials are fed into the hopper, conveyed to the bucket elevator via a belt conveyor and then transferred to the storage bin. Afterwards, they are sent to the main mill by a quantitative feeder for grinding. Qualified materials with desired particle size are scraped into the discharge port by the scraper installed at the bottom of the grinding disc and discharged out of the mill. These materials are then classified into graded finished sand by an external classifier and transported to the finished product bin for storage. Unqualified large-grained materials are recycled back to the mill for re-grinding until they meet the required particle size. Meanwhile, fine powder is collected by the dust collector, and then conveyed to the finished powder bin via screw conveyors and elevators for storage.

Raw materials are uniformly, quantitatively and continuously fed into the main mill chamber by a variable-frequency belt feeder for grinding. The ground materials are carried by the airflow from the fan into the classifier for grading. Under the action of the analyzer, materials that do not meet the fineness requirements fall back into the mill chamber for regrinding, while qualified materials are transported with the airflow through the pipeline into the cyclone powder collector for separation and collection. The finished powder is discharged via the discharge device. The separated airflow returns to the fan through the air return pipe at the top of the cyclone powder collector. The entire production system operates under negative pressure and airtight conditions, equipped with a pulse dust collector to prevent dust emission, fully complying with national environmental protection standards.
